If fragrance bothers your skin, labels like "fragrance-free", "unscented" and "no added fragrance" can be confusing. This guide sorts current Dear, Klairs products by what their full ingredient lists actually show, so you can choose without guessing.
How we sort them
- No added fragrance: the ingredient list has no fragrance (parfum) and no essential oils. Some of these formulas contain plant extracts or waters, such as chamomile flower water, maple sap or coriander extract, which can carry a faint natural scent. That's why we say "no added fragrance" rather than promising zero scent.
- Contains essential oils: the ingredient list includes essential oils or their scent components (like limonene). Those oils give these formulas their scent.
- Non-aromatic plant oils, such as rice bran, soybean or rosehip oil, are used as emollients. They are not fragrance, so they don't move a product into the second group.

FAQ
Are all Klairs products fragrance-free?
No. Most current Klairs formulas have no added fragrance, but a few, including the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, Vitamin E Mask, Rich Moist Soothing Cream, Vitamin Mask Cleanser and Blue EGF Barrier Lip Balm, contain essential oils.
Is the Supple Preparation Unscented Toner fragrance-free?
Its ingredient list contains no fragrance and no essential oils, which is why it is sold as the unscented version of the toner.
Why does a product with no added fragrance still smell a little?
Plant extracts and waters, like chamomile flower water or maple sap, can have a faint natural scent of their own even when no fragrance has been added.
Does "no added fragrance" mean a product won't irritate my skin?
